All players must be registered with GVMBHA in order to attend an assessment before being placed on a team.  Players that are not registered are considered to be uninsured and will not be permitted to play (AND WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND ASSESSMENTS).
 
Registration (November 1, 2015 to January 15, 2016):
Registration fees must be received by February 1st, 2016 in order to confirm the registration.  Registration fees can be paid online with Paypal/credit card  or by cheque(s) which can be mailed in or dropped off (more information below).  If you are mailing in cheques, we require either the payment be in full or a $50 non-refundable deposit payable immediately with a second cheque for the balance payable February 1, 2016 or earlier.   Registrations not paid for by February 1st, 2016 are not considered complete and the affected player will not be permitted to attend assessments.
 
Registration closes on January 15, 2016, however some divisions may become full prior to that date. Please register early to avoid disappointment. The GVMBHA website will be updated should a division become full.
 
Late Registrations:
Any new registrations that are received after the cut-off date of January 15, 2016 will be placed on a waitlist – waitlisted registrants must also mail in their registration fees (online payment is not available for waitlisted registrations) with the players name and division noted on the front of the cheque.  Your cheque will not be deposited until the waitlisted player has been placed on a team.  If the registration fees are not received then the waitlisted player will not be placed on a team.
 
Refunds:
Refunds will be provided prior to March 15, 2016.  There is a $50 fee if you register and then withdraw. The balance of the fee you paid will be refunded until March 15th.  There will be no refund for withdrawn players after March 15, 2016.
 
Jersey Deposits:
A jersey deposit cheque for $50, post-dated July 15, 2016, are to be handed into your Coach / Team Manager at your first practice.  The Coach / Team Manager will provide the necessary information regarding the deposit.
Please do NOT submit jersey deposit cheques with registration – our Registrar only wants cheques for registration fee payment.
 
Financial Assistance:
Anyone requiring financial assistance can contact the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program or KidSport.  These grants are available to you - you must apply directly for them since we cannot do this on your behalf.  Click on Jumpstart or KidSport which directs you to each applications website.
Note 1: you will still be required to pay a $50 deposit at time of registration to hold your spot. If you receive full funding, the $50 will be refunded to you once we receive the full payment. We will follow up in the new year and confirm once funding is received.
Note 2: register online and indicate "yes" to the question about applying for financial assistance.
Note 3: that if your player withdraws from GVMBHA after receiving financial assistance, the funds will be returned to the organization who provided them.

Tyke - $100
All other divisions - $195

• IMPORTANT:  Registration fees must be received BEFORE February 1, 2016.

How do I register?
You need to complete our online registration form and choose your payment option.

Payment Options:
PAYPAL or CREDIT CARD

•  Pay your registration fee in full through PayPal or credit card.

CHEQUE(S) - MAIL or DROP OFF

• 1 Cheque - Pay with one cheque the amount due for your registration fees (paid in full).  Please indicate player's name and division on your cheque and cheque made out to "Greater Victoria Minor Ball Hockey Association".  Cheque must be dated on the date you registered your player(s).  A post-dated cheque will not hold a spot for your player.
• 2 Cheques - Pay with two cheques, one cheque for $50 dated on the date you registered your player(s) and the other cheque for the balance post-dated to February 1, 2016.  Both cheques should indicate the player's name and division and be made out to "Greater Victoria Minor Ball Hockey Association". The $50 deposit is non-refundable and will hold a spot for your player but your player will not be considered as registered until full payment is received by February 1, 2016.

CHEQUE - FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE – MAIL or DROP OFF

• If you are applying for financial assistance through KidSport or Jumpstart programs, you will need to provide a $50 cheque to us by mailing it in or dropping it off in an envelope addressed to Registrar - GVMBHA to Pearkes so we can hold a spot for your player.  Cheque is made out to "Greater Victoria Minor Hockey Association" - please indicate on cheque your player's name, division and note Kidsport/Jumpstart. Once GVMBHA receives funding, the $50 will be refunded.  Please don't delay in contacting these programs as it takes about 6 weeks to process.

          For all payment options, you must register online first. All cheques must be received by February 1, 2016.

• Cheque(s) - NO CASH -  can be dropped off to the reception desk at Pearkes, in a sealed envelope (addressed to Registrar - GVMBHA).
• Note: Pearkes is doing us a great favour in allowing us this option - be super kind to those ladies and men at the reception desk!  This is a drop-off only, the reception staff will receive envelopes only and held for our Registrar to pick up.

          Also note that any cheques returned NSF will be levied a NSF fee of $20.

Why do I have to register so far in advance?
Early registration ensures you that your child will be playing! As well, the league needs to know how many players to expect, so that we can select coaching staff and request floor time.

Can I request my child to play with a friend?
Yes - your child can now request one friend (only) and this request must be reciprocal.  So this means if your child requests their friend "Gertrude", then "Gertude" must also choose your child as their friend request.  No exceptions to this and remember this is only a request but we will try our best especially for our younger players.
